Rushton Farm – CSA Case Study
Rushton Woods Preserve is an 86-acre treasure with mature woodland, open meadows, a creek, and Rushton Farm, the center of Willistown Conservation Trust’s Community Farm and Bird Conservation Program. This film is one in a series that Cinema Quilt made about the preserve. This piece focuses on the farm and the CSA (community supported agriculture) that they run there. The farmers at Rushton are very mindful of the birds and other wildlife and they farm using regenerative farming practices. It was a joy to visit on the farm and learn more about this practice while filming.
For this film we wanted to keep a smaller footprint, and filmed mostly with the Blackmagic 6K pocket camera on a small gimbal and Tokina 11-20mm lens. For the interviews, Melody filmed with the Blackmagic URSA min Pro and a Tokina vista prime. For the aerial shots she flew the DJI mavic air 2.
